Fundraise for Oasis

Whatever you have in mind – big or small, sporty or creative, solo or with a crowd – fundraising for Oasis is a really great way to show up for survivors in our community!

The need for domestic abuse support in Kent and Medway is constant, and the cost of meeting it is real. Keeping our helpline open, training our support workers, having the lights on in our drop-in centres, paying for a taxi and burner phone for someone to flee, taking the children we work with fishing, running our recovery programmes – all of it has a price tag.

Every pound you raise goes directly towards that work, and it means more calls answered, more people breathing a sigh of relief, more children supported through something no child should have to go through. You can either:

  • host your own fundraising event

  • take part in an existing fundraising event

Email fundraise@oasisdaservice.org about your event!

How to get started

Think of how you’ll be collecting money. Setting up a fundraising page takes just a few minutes. We recommend JustGiving (select Oasis Domestic Abuse Service) as it’s easy to use, lets people donate quickly, and Gift Aid is automatically collected on eligible donations.

Once you’re up and running, tell everyone you know about what you’re doing! Your family, your friends, your colleagues, your followers and yours crushes on social media. Make sure you tag us so we can re-share, cheer you on and help you promote your fundraiser too!

We’re here to help

Ideas to spark your thinking

  • Get active: Sign up for a run, walk, cycle or swim. Take on a challenge that scares you a little. Abseil something. Climb something. Swim something cold. Drag your friends along for the ride.
  • Host something: A quiz night, a bake sale, a dinner party with a donation ask, a games evening, a garden party. Bring people together and give them a reason to give.
  • Mark a moment: Birthdays, anniversaries, retirements – ask for donations instead of gifts. Many people find it a meaningful way to mark a milestone while doing something that matters.
  • Do something unexpected: Shave your head. Give up something for a month. Take on a dare. The more personal or surprising, the more people tend to get behind it.
  • Get your workplace involved: Dress-down days, step challenges, bake-offs, matched giving schemes – many employers will match what their employees raise. Ask your HR team if your company has a scheme in place.
